Laser Cladding Barrel
The extruded system is consisted of screw and barrel of which working condition is austere, such as under the high pressure, high temperature, severe wear and some corrosion.
The polish degree of inner surface of the barrel has a significant impact on extruding process....
Generally, it is required that the excellent performance material for producing barrel, such as heat resistant, wear resistant, high pressure resistant and so on.
If it is rough surface inner wall of the barrel that would affect the rate of discharge. It would be broken up due to bear too much pressure from long accumulations.
Sometimes, auxiliary materials and additives are corrosive. It is easy to corrosion under the situation of high pressure and high heat. Corrosion for a long time that would reduce the thickness of the barrel to make broken. Except for this, It also generates to bubble during the process, which would influence in the quality of the product, such as hardness, ratio of molding, unstable quality, crisp and so on. The phenomenon of reflux turn more as melt going forward in the barrel that make it stay over long and get brown. In this case, some spots would be deposited on the surface of finished products.
The technology of laser cladding would resolve this issue efficiently. Compared with other’s. the up-side of laser cladding as follow,
1 Low dilution rate, the performance of cladding layer would be sufficiently assured.
2 High density of texture. Tinny defect on the work piece
3 Simple treatment before cladding
4 Small divergence angle of lase beam and good directivity, brilliant working for partial repair.
The work piece in the video, the ID 190mm, length 1380mm, three layers are applied. The first two layers by stainless steel powder, the last layer by high hardness alloy powder. It would be up to HRC 65-70 without crack and pore, as your reference.
